About
UFO Comics was founded in 2020, when criminology professor, Dr. Kenny Loui, decided to turn his doodles and random thoughts scribbled on post-it notes and napkins while in grad school into something more than just doodles and scribbles.Partnering with Filipino manga artist Yamawe, Kenny created Life Lessons from a UFO Catcher, an manga memoir based on life lessons he learned from his time in arcades in Japan and South Korea playing crane games, AKA "UFO catchers."Initially published as a webtoon in 2020, Life Lessons from a UFO Catcher: An Autobiographical Manga was released in paperback and digital formats in 2023 and would go on to become a bestselling and award-winning graphic novel series. An indie "micro-press" publisher, UFO Comics aims to share stories with heart and publish comics about life. Upcoming series from UFO Comics include A UFO Catcher Story, My Brother's Life is (Not) a Harem Anime, Asian American Horror Story, and an eventual sequel to Life Lessons from a UFO Catcher.
